Zionism: An Invention of the Late 19th-Century?
Or an Earlier Creation

**Zionism**
Many believe “Zionism” applies to the late 19th-century Jewish returning to the State of Isreal in a movement called First Aliya.
BUT,
When one studies the penultimate book in the Hebrew Bible, one quickly realizes that God spoke through a prophet named Jeremiah in the book of Ezra-Nehemiah (which are combined).
- You can see how, 2500 years ago, Jewish exiles returned from Babylon in a movement called Shivat Tzion (Return to Zion).
- Jeremiah had prophesied about this and predicted 70 years in exile.
Sefer Ezra v’ Nechemya (Book of Ezra-Nehemiah) begins with the proclamation of King Cyrus, allowing the Jewish people to return, or rather, God fulfilling His Word!
Theological Question:
Is it too far-fetched to think that God would use His Church to have His original people return to Him?
