The first noticeable act of King David was to take Jerusalem and establish it as the capital. Interestingly, this act took place years after he became king. He ruled in Hebron for seven years before moving to Jerusalem, but no significant event in his life is recorded in the scriptures.

For David, getting Jerusalem from the idolatrous Jesubites and establishing it as the capital was meaningful. Before this, he defeated Goliath!
